Come join us for a night of good NHL Playoff fun at Foley’s in beautiful lower Manhattan. Who knows what fun will be in store when the playoffs start. So April 13th starting at 6:30pm ET, there will be fun, surprises and much more We all love NHLTweetups and last year’s was a legendary experience for all including an inflatable Stanley Cup that drooped a bit.
It will also be an opportunity to meet with great hockey friends and fans, enjoy some good food and excellent drinks in one of the best sports bars around. We hope you can join us and everyone and anyone is invited to stop on by.

The 2nd Annual NHLtweetup: Street Hockey Edition!

It’s that time again! Summer is here and the hockey withdrawal is starting to set in. That can only mean one thing: It’s time for the 2nd annual NHLtweetup: Street Hockey Edition! This year, we have Bruins fan @sarah_connors coming in to be the out-of-state team representative! As always, the local teams’ fans will also be out in full force. Wear your team’s colors with pride!

Join us on Sunday, July 11th, from 1:00-4:00pm (game time) for what be will be another amazing, and extremely fun, NHLtweetup! You can read about all the fun that was had last year here. Don’t have a stick? No problem! The tweeps always have extras. Just bring yourself and your desire to play some hockey! (And if your game is a little rusty, no worries… the stats don’t count!). Also, shoes or skates, the choice is yours. Wait… You don’t play? Then we have the perfect job for you. Bring your favorite chair, set up alongside the “rink” and start mocking… I mean CHEERING, the player(s) of your choice. Feel free to bring family or friends. The more, the merrier!

If you can’t make the game, the tweeps will be heading to a pizza place nearby to recover from the game with some food and drinks. More details on that as the day draws nearer.

The “rink” (term used loosely) is at the far end of the parking lot behind the handball and basketball courts.

Icecreeps and The New York Islanders present The 1st Annual Icecreeps Stanley Cup Hockey Fest and NHLtweetup at McFadden’s of Rockville Centre on June 4th, 2010 at 8pm. Pre-game hockey hour at 7pm!

This event is for all fans. Not on Twitter? No problem. This is all about bringing together hockey fans from all over the NYC / Long Island area!

An #NHLtweetup event unlike any other! This event not only kicks off the first games of the 2009-2010 NHL playoffs, but is also a landmark event. We will “tweet up” for the 100^th official NHLtweetup planned by the fans, for the fans, right here on nhltweetup.com. Where it all originally began…

If you’re new to the Twitter hockey community, or aren’t familiar with the history of NHLtweetup, you can read all about it here on the website of our very own NHLtweetup admin and webmaster, Angela (@goaliegirl). Things have only come this far because of the support of the hockey fans on Twitter and their desire to network and enjoy the game beyond the confines of Twitter’s 140. And to think, I thought I was only posting a few playoff events for the 2008-2009 season… Here we are at our 100^th a year later.

With lots of hockey to soak in on Mudville 9’s big screens, hockey tweeps’ birthdays to be celebrated, and a landmark for NHLtweetup to raise our glasses to, this is a MUST ATTEND event. Did I mention goodies and prizes from the NHL? Oh yes, we have them, too: video games, dvds, a few autographed items and some apparel! Not to mention that guests who RSVP “yes” will receive wristbands redeemable at the NHL Store for 20% off.

Join local hockey fans at ESPN Zone in Times Square to watch the Isles and the Rangers go head to head.  All fans are welcome – stop by on the way to the game or come watch the whole game with fellow fans.

A special area will be reserved for NHLTweetup and all attendees will receive a $10 gift card to use in ESPN Zone’s Sports Arena. Ducks fans! Sharks fans! ALL hockey fans! All are welcome!

Are you sad that that you can’t cheer on the home team because its 3000 miles away? Then come to the NYC NHLTweetup on Sunday, March 14th for an epic Pacific Division rivalry. Join other Ducks and Sharks fans as we cheer on our teams at The Mean Fiddler. We’ll meet for cold beer, good food, and friendly trash talk as we dream of the California sun.

You’ve all heard about southern hospitality but as you’ve seen, when a hockey tweep visits the NY area, we also get together to show them a good time and make them feel welcome.

Our Nashville friend, @TheViewfrom111 (Mark), will be here Monday, February 8th and we need to give him a dose of Tri-State Area hospitality.

Meet us at Champions (in the Uniondale Marriott across from Nassau Coliseum) for hockey talk outside of the 140 limits, drinks, appetizers and lots of laughs. There are five NHL games on that night which we’ll be watching on a few of their 30 big screen tvs.

Champions is a great place for us to get together with its sporty atmosphere. The bar is decorated with over 250 peices of sports memorabilia and it’s not uncommon to be drinking and dining amongst NHL players when they’re in town for a game.

Once again, a Long Island NHLtweetup will prove to be the place to meet hockey tweeps from all corners of the continent. At this event, not only will we watch the Islanders take on the Devils at 2pm, but we’ll also get to hang out with @secondbestdad (Danny) from Seattle, @vulcansmuse (Emily) from Alabama and @Mozy19 (Richard) from Vancouver, BC! Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without @SpeakoftheDevs (Carlos) so he’ll be in from New Jersey representing the Devils contingent.

Pace yourselves! This is going to be a long day in order to accommodate those going to the game at the coliseum, those that want to watch it together on tv, and those who want to come after the game to hang out with our special guests. Did I lose you yet? Okay, pay attention…

If you aren’t going to the game, meet us at The Main Event in Plainview at 1:30 for puck drop at 2:00 and watch with us.

If you are going to the game, hurry over to The Main Event afterward and hang out with us for some food, drinks, and convo in more than 140.

Have to work or watching the game from home? Stop by and say hello whenever you can.

Danny and Richard’s planes don’t land until late afternoon/early evening so if you want to meet them, plan on being there until at least 7pm. Danny has made me promise that we’ll shut the place down, so we’ll be there until they throw us out!

Starting at 7pm, 18 other NHL teams play that night so there’s more hockey to be watched. The Main Event has all the channels we need and more flat screens than we can possibly watch.

So, join all the fantastic hockey tweeps for food, drinks and what will certainly be a night of some memorable photos and  hockey talk from all over the continent!

The Main Event is family friendly so if you have little ones that can party like the big ones, feel free to bring them! Twtvite now accepts RSVPs from those that don’t have Twitter accounts. Be sure to RSVP for everyone that will be joining us to make sure we have enough space. (The ‘3boyz’ will be there for a good part of the day.)

The owner of The Main Event was nice enough to extend the “Game Time Special” to our group which includes $3.00 domestic pints and savings off select appetizers.
