So we’re fairly deep into Round 2 against what’s shaping up to be an even more explosive series against a Northwest Division team– why sit at home and watch the game when the Blackhawks go back to BC for Game 5?

There are more than a few reasons to get together as a group, and the opening of the NHL playoffs is only one of them.

Why: Game 5. Canucks. Round 2 of playoffs. Why on earth not?

Announcing the Chicago NHL Tweetup Prizes

Hello Chicago hockey tweeps! The Chicago NHL Tweetup is pleased to announce a round-up of prizes to be given away at tonight’s tweetup, courtesy of the NHL and the Chicago Blackhawks organization.

The first 25 Tweeps to arrive (and who have RSVPed) will get NHL goodie bags containing a 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs commemorative puck, a 2009 commemorative Winter Classic magnet, and a coupon for 20% off Shop.NHL.com merchandise.

AND, if you’re one of the first 21 to arrive, your goodie bag will also include one special prize from the Chicago Blackhawks, which can be any of the following:

Hey Chicago tweeps! The Chicago NHL Tweetup is excited to announce that the Chicago Blackhawks are on board and ready to help make this the best of the satellite Tweetups, so make sure that you don’t miss the party.

What: Chicago NHL Tweetup
Who: Hockey tweeps in Chicago; primarily Blackhawks, but we won’t say no to stragglers!
Where: O’Leary’s Public House (541 N. Wells St, 2 blocks north of Merchandise Mart)
When: April 15, 6pm to 10pm

NHL Tweetup – Chicago

The Blackhawks have not made it to the playoffs since Patrick Kane was 13 years old (so, yesterday?) but this year is the year, baby! Let’s show our commitment to the Indian because hockey definitely has returned to Chicago.

All Chicagoans are invited, regardless of the team you’re rooting for, though of course the majority would probably be Blackhawks fans. After a couple of beers, some good food, and halfway through the first period of the first game for the playoffs, that probably wouldn’t matter anymore, so come one, come all!
